On December 27th 1935 Company founder HFS Morgan entered the very first Coventry Climax powered 4/4 (four wheels, four cylinders) for the gruelling London – Exeter trial and promptly won a Premier Award in appalling conditions. This was the first of many sporting successes for four wheeled Morgans in different disciplines. Significantly, only 2 years later, in 1938, solicitor’s daughter, Prudence Fawcett took her 4/4 to Le Mans and with Geoffrey White finished an outstanding 13th overall from 42 starters and 22 finishes. Thus began many years of endurance racing by Morgan owners and the factory which continues to this day including a memorable Le Mans Class win for the +4 in 1962 and the factory Aero 8 at Le Mans in 2004.
This quintessentionally English marque established in 1909 and still privately owned by the Morgan family attracts huge enthusiasm and a passionate following around the world.
